3。5 stars。 I started off really excited about the series （because I have loved Mull’s other works）， but about midway， through this first book，I started losing some of my interest in the story line。 I don’t have any intention of giving up though， so onto the next book soon。 I am hopeful that I’ll be more invested as the series progresses。

I thought this was a super fun read。 I loved learning more about this world。 I really liked how this world was mix of both science fiction and fantsay。 This book was super fast pace and engaging and the narrator was super not what i accepted。 I really liked the fast pace nature of this read。 I liked the various enviroments that we had。 I also grew to love the character and will def read mroe books in this series。 This series did not wow me lack fablehaven， but a soild read！！

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I liked this book quite a bit！ I think that the idea of semblances is pretty unique at least from what I’ve read so far。 The reason this only has four stars is because a few parts start out a bit rocky then get better。 For example， when they enter the cloudwall and then meet everyone。 But other than that， it’s a nice book and has a good plot。

My 8 year-old nephew recommended this to me and I thought I would be bored to tears。 But Mull creates such a fun world that makes it difficult to stop reading。 This is a refreshingly creative plot full of adventure and imagination。

i picked this book up at the beginning of lockdown sometime last year。 right away i was pulled into the world from the first chapter。 it was fast paced and easy to get through and i really enjoyed it。 the plot was unlike anything i’d ever read。 i think it is definitely a very solid read。

2 stars for me， but my kids would give it 4 stars， so I compromised on 3 stars。 Read this book out loud with the family。 The 4th & 6th grader really liked it but the adults found it to be overly drawn out and pretty boring。 Hoping for a better family read next time！Five words to describe this book: adventure， magic， good vs evil， friendship

This is very typical fantasy。 Brandon Mull is a very clever author！ He has a way of creating new worlds with adventure， conflict and unlikely hero’s。 This book got that description。 I am looking forward to the other books in the series。 A lot like beyonders - but different too。
